SNL hits up the VP Debate – with Fey as Palin for Skit #3

5 10 2008

Yet another awesome take on the 2008 election from the Saturday Night Live writers – this time taking it to the VP debate from last week…Biden v. Palin. Both Tina Fey and Jason Sudelkis do fantastic jobs with their parts but I gotta say I think Queen Latifah almost steals the show as moderator Gwen Ifill.

Although I have to say, the more of these there are, the more depressed I get about the world in general. Le sigh.

SNL gets another boost with Tina Fey’s Palin Skit #2

28 09 2008

Tina Fey makes another amazing appearance as Sarah Palin. She nails the accent, inflection and gestures again…comedy gold.

Fall Sneak Peek: House, Season 5

26 08 2008

I don’t know about you, but the season 4 dual-episode finale of House was just about one of the best season finales I’ve ever seen. And if you know me, you know I have a lot to compare it to. Like many of House’s more interesting episodes, the plot execution was fantastically non-linear, the mystery was challenging and unexpected and the payoff was devastating…seriously if you haven’t seen it, Season 4 just came out on DVD or you can watch it again the week before the Season 5 premiere (which is scheduled for Sept 16 at 8 pm on Fox).

Until then, I suggest checking out these great new promos for the upcoming season – no major spoilers but a ton of great one liners:

I cannot wait! Plus, looks like lovely Whedon-verse alum Felicia Day (Buffy, Dr. Horrible) is going to be guest starring in the season opener “Death Changes Everything“…something else to watch for!

EW.com lists TV’s 21 Sexiest Scenes

8 08 2008

On their site last week Entertainment Weekly asked people to submit what would be considered the sexiest scenes ever on TV and from those suggestions, the site team would picked their Top 21 pics…and when they put up the finalists today, I saw they’d taken my suggestion and quoted me!

Now I’m not the only one who suggested this particular scene…because HELLO, hottest thing I’ve ever seen on TV (and that’s including all of the porn TMN plays after hours that you forget is there until you flip by it and see more then anyone should see when trying to chill on a week night) but they chose my comment to illustrate the scene’s popularity and suitableness for the list. How cool is that?

Buffy and Spike make EW.com's list!

EW.com's Pic of Buffy and Spike

The scene I’m talking about is from Buffy the Vampire Slayer(natch) – it’s the ending of the Season 6 episode “Smashed“. I’m definitely biased toward the whole thing because it involves my two favourite characters, Buffy and Spike (aka Spuffy as we fans call them…or as I also like to call them, the fandom that drew me into the internets), but if you doubt the veracity of my superlative statement of it being the BEST, I invite you to judge for yourself…I’ll lend you the DVD ;)

Boober says what?

13 05 2008

W00T!

Fraggle Rock

Fraggle Rock is making it’s way to a movie screen near you in the next few years. The Weinstein Company has announced they’re making a live action movie musical of my favourite show of the 80′s!

According to Variety, the film will feature the core characters we all know and love (Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red) and the rough plot will see them taken outside Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans who think they’re from space. Here’s hoping they do Jim Henson’s genius proud!

Now if you’ll excuse me – I think I’m going to go back to YouTube and look up my favourite Jim Henson scenes from Fraggle Rock, the Muppets, Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal…

The Truth is…a kickass trailer!

12 05 2008

I was inevitably going to see this on its release…but nothing I’d seen about it so far had really gotten me excited…until now. Nostalgia-peppered trailer + BILLY FREAKIN’ CONNOLLY = me super excited.

And in honour of my excitement…I present you a scene from my favourite X-Files episode, “Bad Blood”:

Shut yo’ mouth!

Adorable Muppets…

2 04 2008

Seriously, cannot be topped in terms of the funny. That Jim Henson could really bring it. Most creative version of a RR I’ve seen :)

Denny Crane…one of the most entertaining characters on TV…

Join in the fun and add your own Denny Crane quote…or just marvel at the time it took us to add all the ones already there. The choice is yours.

And down goes Raptor…

12 04 2007

There is barely a second of The Colbert Report that doesn’t make me laugh hysterically…but this bit he did the week after the Stephen Colbert Day in Oshawa (which was March 20) was pure genius:
